Troubleshooting: Did it Right, Test Results Worse

Posted in Infection Killing Protocol, and Useful Tips

So, you’ve been a very good girl and spent a whole day following everything precisely, slamming your UTI with quality OLE and raw garlic all day, keeping your bladder empty and your pH slightly alkaline, and you wake up the next morning and skip to the bathroom with a test strip.

dorothy
“This is going to be good.” you think. You might even be smirking a little in smug anticipation, as you open the stopwatch function in your phone and open the test package.

Lo and behold, you pee on that strip, and it immediately starts turning the darkest color you’ve ever seen. Nitrites so deep, dark, and vibrant they’re an almost fluorescent magenta. The leukocytes pad quickly develops a dark purple spot in the center before your horrified gaze.

Shocked Cat Face

“How can this be?” you gasp. “I did everything right!” you wail.

Yes. Yes, you did, girlfriend. You DID do everything right. And you’re going to suck it up and do it again today, because….what you’re looking at is a stampede for the exit.
stampede

You’ve just made the environment extremely hostile to pathogens, and they’re trampling each other to get out of there. You yelled, “FIRE!” in a dark and crowded theater, and there’s only two ways out. How long this lasts depends on how much you’ve got in there, but typically, your test will be much better the day after the first Stampede test. Also, you’ll feel the difference, inwardly. When the above scenario happened to me, I was rather shaken. I woke up feeling good, took a test, had a heart attack…and realized what was going on. I repeated the OLE/raw garlic slamming that whole day, kept my bladder empty, and woke up to trace leukocytes the next morning, and negative for nitrites.

Fear not, gentle reader. You’re kickin’ it like a boss. Lock and load, and kick it again.

Hi Bekah! The Andi from over on the Shock and Awe page… I can’t post there, I don’t know why.

So, I am doing another charcoal cleanse and suddenly got SO sick. Super light headed, my hands are white with the tips of the fingers blue, so dizzy and feeling like I’m gonna blow away.

Do you know what’s happening? I’m a little freaked out I overdosed on the charcoal or something.

I have don’t the 1.5 t salt with 2 c water this morning at 6am… Nothing. Then half a bottle of magnesium citrate at 8:30am. The rest at 10… Nothing. At noon I took a third dose and drank 3/4 of a bottle.

I finally got loose about 1pm but waited to take charcoal till it started clearing out a bit at 2:30p. Took another charcoal dose at 3:30pm and just after got feeling nasty, like I’m gonna pass out. Maybe because I haven’t eaten anything?

    Thank you for helping me!

Hi Rebecca, I’ve been following your protocol for almost a month now, but I still can’t seem to beat this infection. I am pasr the die off phase and am feeling OK and not experiencing any pain, but I still have occasional discomfort and positive test results. My question is, I seriously cannot stomach another clove of garlic. It has gotten to the point that every time I even smell it, I feel like I’m going to wretch. One time I DID vomit while trying to swallow it. Is there anything else you would recommend in liew of the garlic?

I get it: the same thing has happened to me!

      A few thoughts:
Are you certain that nothing in your diet is feeding the infection? Have you seen the chart I linked in the pH connection post, about alkaline and acid-forming foods?

What kind of bacteria do you have?
Which kind of OLE are you taking, and how much per dose and per day?

Have you done a complete charcoal gut cleanse? That will often finish off an infection.

Hey! Diet wise, I have been on a very rigid Whole3O for the last two months. I do partake in a very necessary cup of coffee in the morning… ?.

So here is the history, I suffer from UTI’s maybe once a year. About 90 days ago, I got a Uti and took a couse of Cipro, which always makes me feel terrible for a long while after. It seemed to take care if the infection, but it popped up again a month ago, and I have been following your protocol ever since.

I don’t know what kind of bacteria I have, I don’t have insurance at the miment and can’t afford a culture, but I know that my UTI strips have been reading positive for Leukocytes and negative for nitrates.

I did do the charcoal cleanse and have been continuing to do so intermittently. Is there any negatives to continuing on with large doses of OLE and charcoal? Will it still be effective without the garlic? I am willing to keep charging forward, especially considering that this method is keeping me comfortable and pain-free while my body fights this.

You’re testing first thing in the morning and you’ve never seen nitrites?
That means it’s something like staph, strep, or enterococcus.
I’m surprised it hasn’t folded already in the face of that brutal onslaught of OLE and raw garlic..how dark are those test strips turning? Are they darker since you stopped garlic?

OLE is completely non-toxic..as in, there’s no such thing as a dangerous dose of it, or taking it too long, anything like that. As long as you take the charcoal properly, keeping it spaced out from food and supplements and/or taking it on an empty gut, that’s fine, too. It’s inert, like fiber, so it has no effect on you beyond vacuuming your gut out.

That is HUGE Candida die-off! I think the charcoal took off the top layer, the toughest part, allowing the OLE to reach and kill more of it.

Most women get instant relief, but you’re the second woman in the past week to have worse die-off symptoms after a charcoal cleanse, and the only thing that makes sense is that the Candida was so entrenched that the charcoal doesn’t take it all out the first time, but it makes it more vulnerable to OLE…like taking the protective coating off.

I would take a laxative and get it all OUT. That’s a truckload of toxins, you want them moving out of your system, pronto.

Oh, and just so you know, the lady who had the same experience just e-mailed me tonight to tell me that she felt wonderful all day, and that a rash she’s had for a long time is healed..so don’t worry!
Just take something to get that mess out of your system and you’ll get instant relief.

Wow, just wow. Zero Nitrates!!!! Medium leukocytes but that will take a day or two to settle down. I can’t believe it, yesterday the nitrates were the darkest purple you would ever see! My 4 weeks of hell may be over soon!!

How does it feel to be hardcore? 😀

Thanks Bekah, have been unable to get the liquid magnesium citrate here in nz, no-one seems to know about it, tried pharmacy, health supplement store and it’s not available at any of our online stores. Have held off taking breakfast and have taken large doses of lactulose liquid (a laxative). Fingers crossed

    Hi Bekah,
First of all thank you so much for this website. I have been suffering from a UTI for 4 weeks now, for the last week I have been doing your protocol, prior to that I was taking large amounts of d-mannose and drinking baking soda water but it wasn’t moving it. About the same time last year I had a 3 month period where I had cystitis and went through 3 different rounds of antibiotics, none of which helped, but the symptoms did pass eventually thank goodness.
This time I refused to take the antibiotics, but having a UTI for 4 weeks hasn’t been fun, I am going to ask for 2 months off work today because I have become so unreliable in my job and I am in a position of responsibility, and I feel I need the time to focus on my health.
I am up to 4 ole 3x a day, and yesterday was my first day of that, and I had some of the worst UTI symptoms in the morning (burning, a few stabbing pains) I have had since it started. Is that normal? I started crying at work because of it and had to leave (def not normal for me, I’m a tough chica). I had a mild headache last night but not much, low level burning feeling seems to have to returned to my urethra since, my bowels aren’t flowing yet. I did however stop taking 20mg a day gum Arabic before starting your protocol so that might be slowing things down (I started taking that when I got uti 4 weeks ago to try improve gut health). I did the coconut suppository last night but no infection indicated. My dipsticks just arrived in the mail so I did them this morning for the first time, nitrates super high, and some leukocyte action. Took charcoal this morning for the first time after morning movement, even though it wasn’t loose, will wait 2hrs before having breakfast.
What do you think, am I going ok? I have been reading about e coli biofilms in the bladder and pretty sure I have one (I got tested, it’s e coli).
Also I have been taking 2 probiotics, Jarrow femdophilis 50,000 for the whole 4 weeks, shall I stop doing that while on your protocol?

    Thanks so much.

Actually, I think your Candida has a biofilm, and it’s running defense for the UTI. The quickest way to deal with this would be to get some liquid magnesium citrate (the stuff you use when you’re going to have surgery), and completely empty your gut. Then send two 5000 mg (1 tsp) doses of activated charcoal through with 16 oz water, each time. Take the first dose, wait about 90 minutes, and take the second dose. That charcoal will vacuum up your intestinal Candida regardless of biofilm, and then the OLE and garlic will move into your bloodstream unimpeded, and tackle that infection quickly.
As in, you’ll be symptom-free by the end of the day.

Wait 2 hours after your second dose of charcoal, then take 4-6 OLE (which kind do you have?) and two minced cloves of garlic, along with a little something to eat.

Awesome, will do this. I live in nz so have a brand called Nutralife – Oliviral which is the strongest stuff I could buy here (132mg oleuropein per cap), however same time I ordered that online I ordered the Swanson’s stuff from the US, so that should arrive next week sometime. This Oliviral stuff has a few other herbs and zinc in it so the Swanson’s stuff will be better long term.

If you get your system cleared of Candida with charcoal, you may have this thing kicked before the Swanson even gets there, but even if not you’ll definitely be pain-free and have it severely reduced by then. You’re going to be amazed at how swiftly the infection responds when Candida is no longer a player.
