Why Can’t I Get Well?

..What were we talking about? Oh, yeah. Why you can’t get free of this crap.
What you have to remember about an infection of the bladder is that it’s part of your body’s waste disposal system. Hard to shake/recurring infections aren’t happening in a vacuum, and they aren’t even the problem: they’re the most noticeable symptom of an overarching problem taking place higher up the chain.

The health of your entire body depends on the health of your gut, because that’s where all your food is..or is not..converted into what the rest of your body needs.
When your gut is unhealthy, you’re unhealthy. Symptoms are widely varied, and are generally treated as stand-alone issues: constipation, acid reflux, chronic headaches, recurring UTI’s/yeast infections, fatigue, PMS, rashes/acne, fatigue, joint pain, (Did I mention fatigue?) and depression, to name a few. If you haven’t read about Candida yet, you should. It’s just one of the many microbes naturally present in your gut that can become damaging when it gets out of balance, but it’s by far the most common culprit in undiagnosed gut dysbiosis.

Since your bladder is the last port of call for fluid before it exits your body, anything you take to cleanse it of pathogens has to enter your bloodstream through your gut, so if you have a lot of other pathogens between your stomach and your bladder, they’ll have to be dealt with, first. Be patient.
It took you a long time to get to the point you’re at now, and it’s going to take a bit to correct all of that damage.
Rest assured that as long as you’re taking good quality OLE and raw garlic, and activated charcoal, your gut will be restored to health, and as pathogens are destroyed and balance is restored with probiotic bacteria, the path to your bladder will be cleared, and what purified your gut will also purify your bladder. (In the case of OLE and garlic: activated charcoal never leaves the gut, as I’ve described elsewhere.)

So be of good cheer, fellow traveler! The road to wellness is rocky, and littered with the corpses of those who couldn’t hack it like you can…but you’ll love where it leads you.

Yoda OUT.

    Hello!
I have been reading everything i can find about uti’s but i’ve gotten a little confused since there is so much! I tried to use the Contact Us form but it doesnt seem to be working.
Anyway, im hoping you can help me! I got my first UTI after my baby was 2 months old, i have 4 kids 5yrs and younger so stress is a factor. Didnt take antibiotics…but i had a round a year and a half ago for mastitis with my previous baby. Dont know if that would still contribute?
Anyway, I followed a natural doctors protocol for the UTI the first time…Cranberry, cream of tarter, vit c, colostrum powder, grapefruit seed extract. it cleared up, came back 3 weeks later. Got rid of it, then it came back a week later, did that again. Now its been back 4 times. The first time, i had blood, etc. The blood hasnt come back, but even when i have no other uti symptoms, i have twinges/flashes of discomfort in my bladder. once in awhile in the uretha. I switched my protocol to drinking silver, dmso, food grade hydrogen peroxide, probiotics…the list goes on. I have been to the doctor during the first infection episode and was told that it was a standard uti and they didnt listen to me and culture my urine so i dont know what strain of bacteria this is. I have done self tests, and never saw nitrates, only white blood cells (cant remember how to spell it lol). Tried to go back and have it cultured again and dr said my urine was fine! But the twinges havent stopped and its been at least 2 weeks. She said its probably interstitial cystitis and not bacterial now?!
Please let me know your thoughts, as well as what protocol of yours i should follow?!
I am planning to get a GI map done to see if candida is an issue, and will do your stomach acid test.
Also, can i use betonite clay in place of the charcoal?
Sorry to be so longwinded, i tried to be as concise as possible, honest!!
    Thanks so much

Just joined. I do have OLE, and took 3 with cayenne and garlic with each meal today – so far no relief. Tons of lemon water (I gag even on 1/2 dose baking soda water, we don’t use very much salt at all due to BP issues.)

Which charcoal cleanse will be faster/easiest for him and which doses?

Which one should I do now? I never really had die off symptoms, except sinus headaches. Ugh, I hate pills….hate UTI worse.

Same here on the pills! I have to choke down my vitamins, even.

      Okay, no cayenne this time!
Only OLE and garlic, and cinnamon tea.
It sounds to me like you have Candida with a biofilm: it lines up with:
      1. You getting another UTI
      2. No significant die-off last time, and
      3. Not getting instant relief from what you took today.

What you need is a hard cleanse with a laxative and then several doses of charcoal in succession.

I can walk you through it using the instant messaging on FB: it’s much, much faster than the comments here.

Don’t worry: you kicked it before and you can do it again!

This time, make HIM cleanse with charcoal and OLE, too.

Hi Bekah! I found your blog while searching for natural cures to a UTI.
I am almost certain I have excessive candida. I recently retired from a stressful job and have a real desire to take back or regain my health. I am currently on meds for hypothyroidism (synthroid), high blood pressure and anxiety/depression (pristiq). I am also overweight (carb addict) and p!re diabetic.

Well, summer was moving along fine. I had started on an exercise routine, lost about 5 pounds then had to get a root canal. Infection developed (antibiotics), I got a nasty, nasty virus of some sort, and last week ended up with a UTI. That was all in one month! I have ordered the D’mannose and the OLE that you recommend. My question is: I am very regular and sometimes wonder if I might have IBS, so what other things can I for before adding the D’Mannose? Thanks for your time

These comments don’t have an ‘edit’ feature, do they? I hate that.

You can start making and drinking cinnamon tea to get your bowels even looser before the charcoal: did you see the directions on that?
It’s strongest if you stir the cinnamon right into the water and pour it off the settled grounds before drinking.

The best thing you could possibly do before the OLE gets there is to take activated charcoal. It kills and removes Candida without symptoms, and does it through the entire length of the gut, unlike anything that kills Candida bio-chemically.
The key with it is to take it when your gut is as empty as possible, like first thing in the morning. Take it with nothing but water, and don’t eat or drink anything but water for 2 hours afterward.
Most women can’t take it until they either take a laxative, or have been on OLE long enough to have the runs, because most women with Candida are constipated. It doesn’t sound like you’d have any problem with that, so I’d start taking a 2500 mg dose right after waking (or set an early alarm, take it, and go back to bed for 2 hours) and then do everything else as usual, 2 hours after taking.
I would read up on OLE and blood pressure if I were you, because combined with BP meds it can take the BP too low. You should be able to reduce your meds, taking OLE instead, with no problem, but I don’t like to outright tell people to go off a prescription, not being a doctor.

Research it, and see what you think. OLE is great for naturally correcting elevated BP, so you may be able to kill 3 birds with one stone. The UTI, Candida, and elevated BP.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! I plan start the cinnamon tea right away! My lab results came back. Here is what they found: Klebsiella pneumoniae. Does this change the protocol at all? In reading about this nasty bug, it leaves me a bit frightened! Interested in your thoughts!

Klebsiella is susceptible to a combination of OLE, raw garlic, and cayenne. One of my ladies had an antibiotic-resistant Klebsiella infection for 4 years, and killed it in a week on that combination.
Let me know how you respond to the cinnamon tea: you should feel some die-off symptoms and get UTI relief at the same time.

I took 2 OLE, cayenne, garlic and lots of lemon water this morning. Slight annoying headache for an hour or so, then it disappeared – some bloating. Just took does #2, waiting to see if headache reappears (assuming die-off). Should I bump it up to 3 OLE? And what happens if I decide to be “adventurous” – how many, what happens (besides living near the bathroom) and what do I do as far as protoco/charcoal.

I also saw the foods to avoid list, but do I have to follow a Candida diet? I’m trying to take things with food, but not sure what to eat? Grains, cereal, rice, bread, crackers etc all have a fair amount of carbs=sugar?? So I am limited to vegetables that are non starchy and protein? If so, how long?

Thanks for you help! Determined to deal with all this foolishness once and for all !

A Candida diet is helpful, but honestly, it can be too much to deal with when you’re trying to fix all this and live your life at the same time.
As long as you follow the protocol, listening to your body and adjusting as you go, you’re going to get rid of Candida. The OLE/garlic/charcoal is a way of doing in 10 days what would take you at least 6 weeks to do just following the diet.
As long as you avoid the things I listed (some of which feed Candida/pathogens, and some of which are just bladder irritants) and lean toward alkaline-forming foods in your diet, you’re going to win this thing. Did you see the chart I linked in the pH connection post? Pick things off the alkaline side of it that aren’t sweet, and you’re good.

        Rebekah,

So, I started with small 250mg x 3 OLE (wasn’t sure what my reaction would be and I had to be able to leave the house lol) while I waited for the Swanson ones to arrive.
Yesterday to 2 Swanson capsules, cayenne and lots of garlic with each meal (veggies) and oodles of lemon water. Today upped to 3 with little no response or change except a slight sinus type headache and a little gas, but that could be all the veggies! I took a 4th OLE a little while ago (dinner set yet to come) but I’m actually constipated instead of loose?
Shall I just proceed to laxative tonight (Ducolax is an overnight one) and take the charcoal first thing (alarm). I have the 500mg caps…..and do I still the usual OLE, cayenne, garlic etc. And how many days?

          Rebekah W.

Yes, I would go the laxative route. You may be in the minority that responds to die-off with constipation, or you may have Candida with a biofilm, but either way, the laxative followed by charcoal when you’re clear will take care of it. Don’t take the charcoal until the laxative has worked, and then take a big dose, somewhere between 2500-5000 mg (.5-1 tsp) with 16 oz water, wait an hour, do it again, then wait 2 hours and resume as normal, eating and taking your supplements. You should feel a major difference within a couple of hours, and you shouldn’t be constipated after that. If the constipation stops, then just wake up early, take a 2500 mg dose of charcoal, and go through the rest of the day as normal, for about 5 days.
If you’re still constipated, however, repeat the laxative/charcoal regimen to get the rest of the Candida, being sure to get your gut fully empty (like with liquid magnesium citrate), and take 5000 mg doses of charcoal.

No Candida can resist that: it’ll be vacuumed out of there.
After that, just do the one 2500 mg dose first thing, for 5 days, while taking everything the rest of the day. Test yourself every morning (first pee, when you wake up early) and keep elevating your doses of OLE and taking 1-2 cloves of garlic with every meal and at bedtime until the test strips have been crystal clear for 3 days straight, then taper down.

The symptoms of Candida are caused by the small amounts of toxins it’s releasing all the time, and when you kill Candida it releases LOTS of toxins all at once, meaning that Candida symptoms are temporarily exacerbated.
Dry skin is one symptom of a Candida overgrowth.

Fascinating, no? It’s amazing to see and feel the changes going on when you do this.

Hi Rebekah I couldn’t figure out how to post in under our last comment?

Slightly regular this morning after a Ducolax but I was thinking mabye I should take the liquid Mag Citrate tonight to be sure I’m clear? How long after dinner should I wait to take it? And then just wake up early and take the charcoal?

Also, I just want to clarify this:

” If the constipation stops, then just wake up early, take a 2500 mg dose of charcoal, and go through the rest of the day as normal, for about 5 days.”

I usually don’t “go” until AFTER breakfast and only once a day……so should I still just wake up early in the morning (2hrs before) and take the 2500mg, or will there still be too much in my system from the night before? Or is the overnight gap long enough?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get this right, and these supplements etc are all unfamiliar territory for me! Thank you again for all your help!

I would take the mag citrate that morning then, to make sure, and don’t take the charcoal till you’ve….punished the toilet thoroughly.
You wouldn’t want to take the charcoal and have that be the one day you don’t go: that would be MY kind of luck…LOL

I don’t like to ask you to take mag citrate in the evening, lest it end up keeping you awake half the night. We moms can’t afford the luxury of losing that much sleep!

I have a hard time getting it down – I have a wicked gag reflex (you’d think that would be the garlic lol) but I’ve been drinking tons of lemon water. Swason OLE came in this morning so I’m hoping I can resolve this (been 4 days already) shortly. I get them chronically and this is my first try at dealing with this at home. Ahh, well you can make the soda water half strength and you won’t taste the saltiness, but it will still help you!

If you’ve been on antibiotics that many times, you can expect to have a LOT of Candida you’ll have to fight through to kill this for good.

I would give the OLE a little time, because how your bowels respond to OLE is one of the ways you find out if your Candida has a biofilm, and that’s need-to-know information. Only about 10% of cases have it, but when you do, the entire protocol has to change or else everything you’re taking is wasted because Candida is able to repel it and shunt it right through your system.
If you don’t have anything you need to do today, you can pop a handful of OLE and find out fast..but that’s for the adventurous spirit who already has activated charcoal in the house.

      I know, right?!

Jot down notes once or twice a day on how you feel overall and what you feel helped you the most, symptom-wise. If you’re not making steady progress, evaluate possible causes (did something happen that could have encouraged the infection, like something that fed it, or you missed a dose being away from home unexpectedly, whatever) and if you can’t find a logical cause for a lack of progress, contact me!
If you are seeing constant progress in declining symptoms and test results, or an overall increase in well-being despite still being in Candida die-off, hold onto that.
You’re clawing your way to lasting wellness rather than settling for a quick fix that won’t last.
The last time I tried a quick fix, it gave me BV and the worst rash I ever had, and led to getting a new infection after not even curing the first one. The ‘easy’ path was a pitfall. :/
